Terms & Conditions
- This competition runs from 29 January 2024 until 26 February 2024 with online entries open from 22 January 2024.
- To enter the competition on-air, go to PrimediaPlus.com/captetalkbrain.primediaplus.com and play the game online.
- Successful entrants who correctly answer the questions online will be called for a second round of questioning by the Brain producer.
- The entrant must answer at least 80% of these questions correctly, in order to progress to playing the game on-air.
- Should the entrant successfully win a round on-air, they will be scheduled to compete in the following round on-air, against a new entrant.
- Should an entrant successfully win one round but lose subsequent rounds, they will not be entitled to re-enter the campaign for that calendar year.
- The entrant who successfully prevails at the end of the final execution of the day will be invited to compete in the live broadcast on the Saturday. Entrants will be expected to attend the various malls each week. If one of the week’s winners is not available, they forfeit any right to compete further in the competition. Entrants will need to come to the malls for the live broadcasts and will be disqualified if they cannot come to the various malls.
- Weekly finals occur over four weeks at malls around Cape Town, with the Brain of CapeTalk announced on the fourth Saturday of February.
- The weekend competition will pit the week's winners (Monday through to Friday - five competitors) against each other for a place in the finals on the last Saturday of the campaign.
- All of the final winners from week one through to four will be invited to play in the final play-off on the final weekend activation.
- The Brain of CapeTalk, crowned on the last Saturday of February, will then be required to come to the CapeTalk studios in Green Point, Cape Town to compete against the Brain of 702. This will happen at 07h00 on the 26th of February 2024.
- Each on-air round-winner wins R1 500 cash. The winner of each quarter-final wins R10 000 cash. The Dis-Chem Brain of CapeTalk wins R20 000 cash. The Brain of Brains wins R40 000 cash.
- The judges’ decision is final, and no further correspondence will be entered into.
- The prize is not negotiable, and not transferrable.
- CapeTalk and Dis-Chem will not be held responsible for any SMS charges, data charges or phone costs incurred while participating in this competition.
- CapeTalk and Dis-Chem will not be held liable for entries not received for any reason whatsoever, and will not be responsible for network connectivity or hardware issues experienced while participating.
- A participant will not be able to win this competition if they have won a prize on 947, 702, CapeTalk or Kfm within the past 90 days, whether on-air, online or via any of the station’s social platforms.
- If a winner chosen does not comply, their entry will be disqualified, and a new winner will be randomly drawn.
- If the phone line drops during the execution, if a player cannot be successfully contacted, if a winner is ineligible to accept the prize, or contravenes the terms and conditions of this competition, or of Primedia Broadcasting prizes T’s & C’s, the prize will be forfeited.
- Primedia Broadcasting will process the winner’s payment within 21 working days, from date of requested documentation received.
- Primedia Broadcasting will notify the winner when the vouchers will be ready for collection or delivery, based on the receipt of requested documentation.
- CapeTalk and Dis-Chem reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice. Any changes to the competition will be notified to participants as soon as possible by the promoter.
- Employees of Dis-Chem, Primedia Broadcasting and their immediate family and friends, are not permitted to enter the competition.
- By entering this competition, a participant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

- Winners agree to the use of their names, comments, image and footage to be used in any publicity material without compensation.
Junior Brain
- The first execution from Monday to Friday is set to be a junior round.
- Children have to be aged between 10 and 12 years (on 21 January 2024) to compete. Proof of age may be requested.
- Children assisted by parents (such as whispering answers while on air) will be disqualified. This is non-negotiable.
- Money for Junior Brain winners will be transferred to a parent’s account.
- The five daily winners from the week are expected to compete on the Saturday at a mall around Cape Town. If one of the week’s winners are not available that weekend, they forfeit any right to compete further in the competition. Entrants will need to come to the malls and will be disqualified if they cannot come to the various malls.
- Each Junior Brain daily winner gets R1000 cash, and the winner of each weekly mall activation gets R3 000.
- All other rules, terms and conditions as per above apply to Junior Brain competitors.
